Mentored by the late Ernie Cromie BEM, former chairman of the Ulster Aviation Society, the curator began to research the USAAF history of Langford Lodge at the age of 17, during the autumn of 2001. He is the author of three books, two directly related to USAAF-LOC activities at Langford Lodge and has taken part in a variety of radio interviews and a documentary feature film. Recenlty, he has assisted the restoration team who restored the "Memphis Belle", in relation to modfication kits that were fabricated at USAAF Langford Lodge and later installed on the aircraft. In addition to the above activities, where possible, he has provided a number of talks to local historical societies and groups, organised a number of public open days at Langford Lodge and assisted veterans families in many capacities. To date, the Heritage Collection building is the largest project the curator has undertaken and by far, the one he has been working towards since he started researching and collecting, over 22 years ago. When complete, the heritage building, the only one of its kind dedicated to the USAAF-LOC Langford Lodge story, will serve as a fitting permanent memorial, a place where veterans families can come to reflect, step back in time for just a moment and learn about their loved ones contributions that brought about peace in Europe, from a remote part of Northern Ireland, often referred to as "Lockheed City" "Little America" and "Los Angeles newest suburb" Keeping true to a promise to the late Ernie Cromie BEM, who was an inspiration, mentor, and above all, a lifelong friend for 20 years, the curator is committed to carrying the torch, researching the USAAF Langford Lodge story. The heritage collection building will be dedicated to his late memory.
